The Rabbi, the Imam, and the Priest: A Look at Religion in the Local Community

Supported by a generous gift from Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, the New Brunswick Free Public Library will present two programs on religion in the New Brunswick area.

This will be a presentation by representatives of the three 3 Abrahamic religions: Judaism, represented by Rabbis Robert Wolkoff and Shaya Shagalow; Islam, represented by Imam Sami Catovic; and Christianity, represented by The Reverend Joanna Hollis. With the same root, these religions have developed into historically separate systems of faith that share many beliefs and practices as well as differences. All three have been in New Brunswick for many years and interact with the wider community in various ways. In the current political climate and worldwide crises, a greater need for mutual understanding has been generated. Come enhance your knowledge of others: public participation is encouraged and young people are welcome.

Location: New Brunswick Public Library - 60 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick, NJ 08901.

Audience: All ages.
