This is the first photography workshop presented in conjunction with the library's 10th Annual Photography Contest, and will be presented by Joel Simpson.
Learn what it takes to develop your own vision in the very popular field of landscape and nature photography. Do you aspire to take photos that are as good as the ones you see on postcards and calendars? Or do you find these trite and predictable and want to go beyond them? Award-winning photographer Joel Simpson will show you the path to photo-Nirvana, what it takes to set yourself on it, and what to expect along the way. You can’t get there overnight, but if you persist, nourish your visual curiosity, get the right equipment, are willing to wake up early, stay up late, go out in the rain, and, above all, to look at lots of good photographs, you, too, can make the journey.
Location: New Brunswick Public Library - 60 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
Special instructions: To attend, please register at the library’s Reference Desk, or call 732-745-5108, ext. 20. Time will be allotted for Q&A, so bring your ideas and questions!
