The New Brunswick Free Public Library has again partnered with other community organizations to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! The celebration will begin at 11 a.m. in the library’s Community Room with storytelling by re-enactor Domingo Camarillo as Benito Juárez, President of Mexico. Festivities at the library will also include piñata, face painting, arts and crafts. At 1 p.m. we will have a parade featuring low rider cars from the library to Joyce Kilmer Park, where there will be variety of food vendors, music and dance performances. The festival will continue in the park until 6:00 p.m.
Program sponsors include Lazos America Unida, New Brunswick Cultural Center, New Brunswick 4-H Club, Unity Square, Harmony Family Success Center, La Costena Radio, and Professional Latino Firefighters of Central New Jersey: New Brunswick Chapter.
