Summer Reading Kick-off

The Old Bridge Public Library’s annual summer reading program kicks off with crafts and activities for all ages. With the theme of "Build a Better World," this year’s program will focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) activities. Among the day’s highlights will be:

* 11am program featuring the popular ScienceTellers and their “Tall Ships and Pirate Tales” event. ScienceTellers entertains and educates children and their families with positive, educational science programs using interactive experiments to bring the sights and sounds of original stories to life.

* 12:30pm “Build a Cardboard Town” program. Patrons will work together to construct a cardboard town using Library supplies and participants’ creativity.

* 1pm Robotics presentation in the Idea Farm makerspace, featuring demonstrations of Finch robots.

* 11-2pm Representatives from Robert Wood Johnson will be on hand to provide glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings, and a licensed nurse will provide relevant information about healthier lifestyles and behavior tips.
