Books on the Move: Firebird

NJPAC presents Books on the Move!

Join NJPAC Teaching Artist Wincey Terry in a reading of FIREBIRD by Misty Copeland, who made history as the first African-American Principal Dancer with the American Ballet Theatre. Young listeners will role-play parts of the book, recite affirmations and participate in an arts and crafts activity. 25 families will receive a free copy of the book! Refreshments will be served. Participation is free and open to Springfield residents as well as to those who reside in other communities.

The collaboration of NJPAC with the Springfield Free Public Library aims to promote arts education, interest in reading, and the power of determination, this year showcasing the story of ballet artist Misty Copeland through her own story in FIREBIRD, illustrated by Christopher Myers.

Audience: Kids

Special instructions: Families interested in participating will need to register with the Youth Services Dept either in person or by phone @ 973-376-4930 ext 232.
