Dr. Jessica S. Miller, M.D is a board Certified Physiatrist who specializes in Integrative and Functional Medicine, using a holistic approach to treat her patients. She received her M.D. from New York Medical College in 2000. She then completed her residency training at Harvard Medical School in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2004. After graduating from her residency program, Dr. Miller joined the facility of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor for 5 years. She then transitioned into private practice.

Dr. Stephen Kayiaros will present a brief overview of arthritis of the hip and knee and outline nonoperative and surgical treatments for both. He will present the latest techniques used in knee and hip replacement surgery with a special focus on anterior approach hip replacement surgery.

Dr. Stephen Kayiaros is board certified in orthopaedic surgery. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentristry of NJ - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University. He completed his internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery as well as a fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University followed by a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

The human body is designed to move. If we don't move, we risk losing some of our mobility, independence, and the ability to do the things we enjoy. As the old saying goes, "Use it or lose it!" By taking relatively simple steps now, we can improve our physical capabilities and preserve them well into the future. This program will offer insights and examples of some of the ways to do this, while leaving plenty of time for questions and answers.

Swati Juneja is a New Jersey licensed physical therapist who served as an Assistant Professor at the Garden City College of Physiotherapy and was also a a lecturer at Shekhar College of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. She is currently the Director of Rehabilitation Services at Brunswick Physical Therapy. Swati's practice includes the treatment of a wide variety of physical impairments ranging from orthopedic issues and neurological disorders to chronic pain and sports related injuries.

Research has demonstrated that people living with severe psychiatric conditions may have an increased risk of heart disease and related conditions. NAMI New Jersey’s Hearts & Minds program is an hour-long live presentation focusing on inner and outer wellness for people living with a mental illness. Hearts & Minds seeks to raise awareness and provide information on: medical self-advocacy, smoking cessation, addictions, healthy eating, exercise, and diabetes.

- Taking the wellness approach can result in: 17 percent decline in total medical visits and 35 percent decline in medical visits for minor illnesses

- Wellness is about the individual— you can decide what parts of your life you would like to change.
