RBPL Presents NYT Bestselling Author Matthew Quirk

Join us for an afternoon with New York Times bestselling author Matthew Quirk. Quirk is the author of four political thrillers, including The 500, The Directive, Cold Barrel Zero, and Dead Man Switch (forthcoming in March). Quirk attended Harvard College, where he studied history and literature, and has worked as a reporter for The Atlantic. Mr. Quirk is also a former Red Bank Area Resident. He joins us as part of his book tour for his exciting new novel.

NJ Makers Day at the Library - Red Bank

Join us as we kick off our very exciting 1st annual NJ Makers Day Open House on Saturday, March 25, from 11:00am-4:00pm. There will be stations throughout the library featuring all sorts of crafts such as a sewing maching, button maker, balloon animals, silhouette maker, laminating machine, electric typewriter, yarn crafts, and much more! This program is free and all ages are welcome. Registration is not required. The library will be open extended hours from 10:00am-5:00pm today.

For everyone stirred by the sound of the bagpipe, join us as we present the 3rd annual Bagpipes, Kilts and More! Local Red Bank resident, Jim Whyte, a 19-yr member of the Pipes and Drums of the Atlantic Watch will present a family-oriented program featuring the music and history of the bagpipe.Jim will bring his instrument, perform songs and explain the traditions. Get with the rhythm and mark your calendars for this fun program that is open to everyone and sure to keep your feet tapping!

Yoga for adults is held every Friday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. with instructor Jeanette Sealy. The class is appropriate for all levels of yoga experience. Please bring your own yoga mat. Registration is not required. Participants attend on a first come, first served basis up to a total of twenty people.

Iditarod Sled Dog Race

Join us to celebrate the start of the “Greatest Race”, the 1,049 mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race across Alaska, Saturday March 4 from 11:00 am-12:30 pm. Learn about the history of the race and what it takes to participate in this incredible event. We’ll watch video footage from past races, learn what the mushers and dogs have to do to get ready for the race, and make predictions for this year’s top finishers. Craft and Iditarod-themed snack.
